Luigi Berardi

Luigi Berardi was born in Ruvo di Puglia - Bari (Italy) in 1979. He has got his Master of Science degree (cum laude) in 2004 in Civil Environmental Engineering in the Technical University of Bari (Italy). His main research experiences are concerned with the application of data-mining techniques for analyzing pipe assets and development of decision support systems for the proactive management of sewers and water distribution systems.

He works at the Technical University of Bari, Civil and Environmental Enginering Department, as PhD Studend, and in the Centre for Water Systems (Visiting Researcher), Department of Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics, in the University of Exeter (UK). From February 2005 to March 2006 he spent one year in the Centre for Water Systems being involved in a research project whose main topic was the “Development of a decision support tool for water system management based on a multi-objective evolutionary technique”. Currently, he is working on the applications of the evolutionary data-mining techniques for modelling asset failures in pipe networks, and on the applications of the population-based evolutionary techniques on the development of decision support systems for water system rehabilitation/renewal.

Research interests

Data-driven modelling.
